Parrots at the bird feeders in my back yard!
I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures. I took them through my window
(um... and looks like I need to wash that window... ick).
I 've never seen parrots in this area and was quite surprised to see so many of them all at once. They were on every feeder! Just gorgeous! I got a bit worried that they had escaped some warm home and would freeze this winter so decided to see what I could find out. It seems there are large nests around Dallas and one is located at White Rock Lake near my home. The parrots live on electric substations and the substations generate enough heat so they can live outdoors year round. I hope they come back to dine at my feeders again soon.
